After leaving school in 1959 Tony joined Bankers and Traders Insurance Company. After becoming one of Brisbane’s youngest insurance inspectors he was promptly banished to the wild west to do his country service, working from Dalby to Thargomindah.
Working closely with the local businesses and farming community, he developed a deep understanding of the needs of clients in challenging environments who rely on being insured properly.
Tony returned to Brisbane to take up an account manager role with Australian Eagle and this kindled his desire to work directly with clients and to do so for himself.
In 1979 he made the leap into his broking career and started TBIB on his own, not far from its current home in Fortitude Valley. During this time Tony was instrumental in the development of the Council for Queensland Insurance Brokers.
Tony is a profession jazz singer and he now spends his time between travel, fishing and working as an Executive Director of TBIB.
